How did you think of this?," Where did you get the idea?", “How did you get started?; these are but a few of the questions I have been
asked since Wonderfully Made began in early May of 2009. It all stared
when I was trying to think of a unique, original and personal gift for
my room moms, as I am also an elementary school teacher. I decided
that I would make personalized picture frames to match their tastes
and the theme of their homes. I am always on the search for great
gifts for people that I love! These ladies had bent over backwards to
make my year as easy as they possibly could so I really wanted to make
something special for them. I had recently discovered the amazing art
of decoupage and was itching for an excuse to use it! After I made
those gifts, I thought to myself, these are awesome gifts and I
really think people would buy these! In that instant, a vision of
Wonderfully Made came to mind and the rest is really and truly
history!
After the initial idea sprouted, I sat down with my wonderful,
supportive husband, Jeff and said, I really want to make something
out of this and I want you to support me. |
He said, The Lord has
blessed us with this talent you have and with all of the other
blessings he pours out, we need to make sure that we are giving back
to him. It was at that time that we decided that 10% of the profits
would go to a non-profit organization.
That part was decided from the
beginning, now the question remains, What organization to chose. I
have been praying for guidance about what organization to support and
what I have gathered so far is that I am looking for a local,
Christian-based, Ministry that supports troubled people. I know that
God will bring me the organization he wants Wonderfully Made to
support, it is just a matter of time.
I feel truly blessed to have been given an outlet to let my creative
juices flow while helping others to make their decorating dreams come
true! I am now able to go to antique stores, thrift stores and craft
stores with a real reason to buy something! That makes me happy! I
absolutely love finding different fabrics, papers, ribbons, and other
inspirational items that make me want to craft away! |
